On July 31, 2020, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued a press release announcing that it has once again extended the CARES Act Provider Relief Fund application deadline. Eligible health care and dental providers now have until August 28, 2020 to apply for the Phase 2 general distribution to Medicaid, Medicaid managed care, Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and Enhanced Provider Relief Fund.
In addition, HHS plans to reopen the portal to certain Medicare providers that experienced challenges when applying for the Phase 1 Medicare General Distribution. This “second chance” will begin the week of August 10, and will also expire on August 28th.
